"In junior high school, I had a crazy algebra teacher. Each day, she would tune the TV to the zen channel, and leave the room for forty minutes. I saw HIGH SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL maybe thirty times that year."

Well, it shut the kids up, didn't it? ;-) My math teacher in jr. high was also the gym teacher. I was so disoriented, though, nobody could have made me absorb anything (it was the 70s, maaan).

I was an "adult" in the '70s. In fact there are times when I think I entirely missed the '70s - but then the nightmares return.

My "civics" and "social studies" teachers were also gym teachers and/or coaches. Needless to say, the jocks got straight As in their classes. Me? straight Ds and Es. Fortunately, we had "social promotion" in those days, so after six years, EVERYBODY GRADUATED!

Three kids who had dropped out of school in grade ten had diplomas waiting for them after grade twelve graduation. They were the kids who had been left back multiple times in grade school. At least one of them grabbed his diploma and took off. Crazy times. I miss those horrible days.

That's all interesting, but you know what it was really about:
